Galion Primary School
Welcome to Galion Primary School!
The 2016/17 school year begins August 24. This school year will be packed with many educational activities, fun and of course, learning opportunities. Throughout the year, we will focus on being the best we can be as good students, good readers, and good citizens. There is a leader in all of us. Communication and parental involvement continue to be very important. We encourage you to get involved and stay informed. There are many ways parents can help to ensure their student's educational success. We encourage you to attend school events, monitor schoolwork and assignments, and become involved in the district Parent Teacher Organization. Please encourage your student to ask for help and to ask questions as needed. We hope you stay involved with your child and monitor their daily activities and progress through the Tiger Folder, student agendas and ProgressBook Parent Access.
Please get involved in our READER LEADERS program this year. We ask that you commit to reading with your child for 15 minutes a night. Students will earn incentives at the end of each month for "practicing" with someone away from school. We hope that you will be able to support your reader at home. More information will be coming your way.
Positive behavior supports and the Color Code of Conduct have been instrumental in the continuance of our school wide discipline system. The monitoring of monthly behavior data helps us to help students improve school wide behavior and increase the individual student success. Students earn tickets throughout each week for demonstrating "PAWSITIVE" behaviors. Drawings are held periodically for prizes.
We are confident that your time at the Galion Primary School will be the beginning of a bright future for your student and family.
