At Galion City Schools, fire lanes must remain clear at all times to ensure emergency vehicles have immediate access to our buildings if needed. Parking, stopping, or leaving a vehicle in a designated fire lane is strictly prohibited—this applies to both public and private property, including school grounds.
At GCS, fire lanes are clearly marked with red curbs and posted signage. Vehicles parked in these areas violate fire code and may be subject to fines, penalties, or towing at the direction of the local fire official.
These regulations are in place for everyone’s safety. Please help us keep our campuses safe and accessible in the event of an emergency.

From the dog house of Radar... Are you ready for school to start?!? I just got back from the groomer and I am looking fresh and smelling sweet!! Thank you to Star Dazzle Pet Grooming for the bath (not so much the blow dryer) and nail trim and buff! Also, thanks to Doc Shuler, at Horizon Animal Hospital, for the physical and shots. (not so much the shots) Doc Shuler gave me a clean bill of health and even got down and played with me for a bit. I think I am all ready for the school year!!

My name is Radar and I am the School Facility Dog (SFD) for Galion Primary School. I am excited to get the school year started and meet all the staff and students of Galion Primary. First, I want to tell everyone a little bit about me. I am a two year old Labrador Retriever and I have been training almost my entire life to be a School Facility Dog. I have been training with the great people at The Ability Center in Sylvania , Ohio. (https://abilitycenter.org/assistance-dogs/) This is a very successful program and they have over 45 dogs working in Schools around Toledo and Northwest Ohio. One aspect of my training was working with different handlers in different schools. I finished my training in the spring at Fort Meigs Elementary School. The school was amazing and I loved getting to know all the students. My handler, Mrs. Sparks, taught me a lot and I will miss her and all the students at Fort Meigs!
I am excited to be at Galion Primary and thankful for the Galion Education Community Foundation for giving Galion Primary a grant to obtain a School Facility Dog. With the grant, the Primary School was able to get an SFD (ME!), training of 4 handlers and continued training and support throughout my time in Galion. I enjoyed getting to know my handlers (Mr. Staton, Ms. Adams, Mrs. Perry & Mrs. Skinner) and I think I taught them quite a bit during our training together.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
