🔒 Centegix Lockdown Drill – Friday, September 4
Galion City Schools will conduct a planned lockdown drill on Friday, September 4, at 2:10 p.m. as part of our ongoing commitment to student and staff safety.
The drill will utilize our Centegix security system and will give students and staff an opportunity to practice our emergency procedures in a controlled setting.
Please know that this is only a drill. No emergency is occurring.
We regularly conduct safety drills to help ensure our students and staff are prepared and know what to do should an actual emergency situation ever arise.

We’d like to ask our community for a little extra patience and understanding when you find yourself stopped behind one of our school buses.
Some of our buses transport students with special needs, and while the bus may not be visibly loading or unloading a student, important things may still be happening inside. A student may need to be safely secured in a harness, the driver may be assisting a immediate need, or additional time may simply be necessary to ensure every child is safe and ready before the bus can continue.
Our preschool routes can also take a little extra time, as many of our youngest passengers need to be carefully and safely secured before the bus moves.
We understand that waiting at a red stop sign can sometimes feel inconvenient—especially when you're in a hurry. But those extra few minutes can make all the difference in ensuring that our students are safe and properly cared for. ❤️
Behind every bus is a driver doing their very best to safely transport precious children, and sometimes that means they need a little extra time.
Thank you, Galion community, for your patience, kindness, and understanding. A few extra minutes of waiting is a small act of grace that means so much to our students, families, and dedicated bus drivers. 🚌💙🧡

When she's not at school, Ava enjoys going on walks, cooking and baking, and spending time working on the fixer-upper home she and her fiancé are making their own. Her love for the Galion community and passion for helping young learners make her a wonderful addition to our Primary team. We are excited to have Ava back where it all began.
